Design is portal into culture and tradition, mastery and craftsmanship, it propels both innovation and development, and connects both on a local and international scale.

A Design Journey: From Lisbon to the world is an event programme that seeks to stimulate relevant discussions and collaborations based on current issues around design, craftsmanship and sustainability, in the form of roundtable talks, workshops and film screenings.
Curators of talks and workshops, Babled Studio and Passa Ao Futuro, will involve national and international participations, bringing together expert voices to dissect, analyse and discuss each topic.

Events will take place in Rua da Madalena 85, between the 1st floor (Babled Studio) and The 3rd Floor. The talks will be streamed live on Zoom and later be accessible in this page, where you can already watch past talks.

A Design Journey: From Lisbon to the world

For the film screenings, we joined forces with Istituto Italiano di Cultura Lisbona to bring a festival dedicated to design and craftsmanship, mainly composed of independent Italian titles.

The programme is curated by Silvia Robertazzi and Porzia Bergamasco, who enriched this cycle with films from their collection as former curators of the MDFF.
The 5 sessions of this festival will be held in different venues, from important theatres in Lisbon to renowned artistic schools.

Some of the events will be graced with the presence of the film directors and the curators of the programme, with the aim to enhance the experience of the spectators. All films are subtitled in English.
